All Axess recently caught up with Rush frontman Geddy Lee to talk about how the songs ‘Caravan’ and ‘BU2B’ evolved from when they were originally released two years ago, to the versions that appear on the latest Rush album ‘Clockwork Angels.’ Check it out in the video interview below.

Versions of both ‘Caravan’ and ‘BU2B’ were released in 2010 and were performed live by Rush during their massive ‘Time Machine Tour.’ However, Lee explained that upon writing material for ‘Clockwork Angels,’ Rush realized that neither song had reached its full potential.

“Even though we had recorded and mixed them in a two-week period, very quickly before the ‘Time Machine Tour,’ we knew when we did the rest of the songs that there had been some growth in terms of the sound of the album,” Lee said. “We realized that they could sound different, so we remixed them for the album version.”

Lee added that fans who purchased the original versions of the songs would be able to notice a distinct difference in the sound, compared to the remixed versions. “The versions that people have now of those two songs are quite different than the versions they’ll get on the new album.”

‘Clockwork Angels’ is available now. Click here to purchase it.
