Linkin Park’s Brad Delson On The ‘LPU Sessions’ Contest

Linkin Park guitarist Brad Delson has discussed the band’s recently announced ‘LPU Sessions’ contest, which gives Linkin Park fans the opportunity to win a trip to LA to record their own original song with the band.

Linkin Park made the announcement today (July 22), revealing that the winning songs could end up on their upcoming LPU13 album, which will be made available later this year to Linkin Park Underground members. The album will be the thirteenth edition to the band’s LPU releases, which consist of rare and unreleased tracks.

Delson explained that the project was an advancement in Linkin Park’s continuing endeavor to further connect with their fans: “Since our inception, we’ve relied on the input and support of our exceptionally dedicated fan base. Beyond sharing our music and art with the LP community at large, we relish opportunities to empower our fans to share their many talents with us. We’re excited to announce we will continue that tradition through the LPU Sessions, a one of a kind collaborative music-making project. The LPU Sessions will allow fans to submit original material with a chance to work hands on with the band in the studio.”

To be eligible to win the competition, candidates must post an original piece of music of any genre on their YouTube page. The video must be a static image and contain the band/artist name or logo. Once the video has been uploaded, the YouTube link can be submitted via LPUnderground.com/LPUSessions.

LPU headquarters will judge all submissions and choose 10 finalists, who will all be announced on Aug. 12th. The top 10 will then be showcased on LPUnderground.com, where LPU members will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite finalist starting August 12th. Two winners will be announced on Sept. 3rd. Members can vote once a day until August 25th.
