All Axess recently caught up with Soulfly and Cavalera Conspiracy guitarist Marc Rizzo for an exclusive lesson on how to play ‘American Steel’ from Soulfly’s latest album ‘Enslaved.’ The lesson can be found in the video below.

Rizzo explained that ‘American Steel’ is a good example of Soulfly’s current sound and a reliable indicator at what fans should expect from the band in the future. “It’s a cool riff. It’s kind of a new direction we’ve been going in, with Soulfly. We’ve been getting more thrashy every single record, so it’s a pretty thrashy riff…I like riffs like that.”
Soulfly are currently trekking their way around Europe in support of ‘Enslaved’ and will be landing on U.S. soil at the end of next month. Dates for the U.S. leg of the tour are listed below.
