This week’s AMPED Artist Of The Week is up and coming Canadian hardcore outfit, This Burning City. The track, ‘Ignorance,’ from the band’s forthcoming EP can be heard below.
Since forming in Gananoque in 2012 as a high school garage band, This Burning City has evolved to become one of the fastest rising bands on the local scene and now have their sights firmly set on the national and international markets. “We’ve had the chance to open for a lot of amazing acts and overall I think the whole road so far has been one big highlight,” the band told us of their career so far in a recent exclusive interview.
With several shows already booked in and the launch of their debut EP scheduled for release in the coming months, 2015 is promising to be the biggest year in the young band’s career so far. “We’re thinking lots of shows, and definitely getting out on tour to support the new EP and get the name out there. Possibly bringing some friends along on tour and just having a blast.”
This Burning City is currently preparing for a show with fellow Canadian hardcore act Prophets on February 6 at the Parkdale Community Centre in Belleville, Ontario.
Check back later in the week for our full interview with the band.
This Burning City official bio”
“This Burning City formed in 2012 coming from the small town of Gananoque. After some line up changes and some growing pains, the band landed with the line-up it has now.
Preparing to record and release their first EP, TBC works hard out of their overly warm and uncomfortable shed. They can be found drinking beer and playing shows. Enjoying every minute of what they do and eagerly wanting to share it with the world.
This Burning City is a hardcore band taking influences from Dead and Divine, Secrets, Horizons, Sworn In, Lower Definition, Of Mice & Men, Sleep When You’re Dead, The Color Morale, Stray From The Path, The Holly Springs Disaster, La Dispute, and Stick to your guns.”
