This week’s All Axess AMPED Artist is a group of metalheads from Houston, Texas, who are currently tearing up the local scene with their own brand of aggressive and progressive metal.
Let us introduce you to Downfall 2012.
Downfall 2012 has shared the stage with some pretty big names, including the likes of Hed(pe), Twisted Sister, Alice Cooper, and former AMPED alumni Powerman 5000. The group was awarded “Band of the year”, “Best Live Performance” and “Best Bassist” at the 2013 Texas Buzz Music Awards and has been nominated in multiple categories annually by The Houston Press and several other local Texas publications.
The band has released 2 of 3 parts of a concept series titled “Everyman For Himself” which include comic books with each EP to illustrate the story behind the music. Songs “Divinity” and “Heckler” are picking up some sweet airplay in various parts of the U.S., along with several internet radio programs. Videos for both songs have been released, alongside another for the song “Face to Face.” Multiple people have told us about the Downfall 2012’s entertaining live show, which involves some unusual covers and a series of out-of-the-ordinary percussive instruments including…well…buckets, amongst other things.
Downfall 2012 consists of Danny Gil, Boo Rogers and Casey Bowen, and the only way appears to be up from here. We’ll have an interview with the band going live this week, and look forward to sharing their unique style with you as the week goes on. In the meantime, have a listen to the entirely kick-ass track “Divinity”…
