This week’s ‘Amped artist’ is Scottish 5-piece metal band Excellent Cadaver. Check out the title track to their debut album ‘Faith Destroyed’ with guest vocalist Mark Hunter of Chimaira in the video below.
Excellent Cadaver was formed in early 2008 in Dundee, Scotland and have since shared the stage with Trivium, Chimaira, Revoker, Rise To Remain, InMe, Exit Ten, Malefice and many more. The band’s unique sound has been likened to that of a, “hurricane like force hurtling towards you at 100mph.”
‘Faith Destroyed,’ the band’s debut album was released on September 1 this year and features guest appearances from Mark Hunter and Matt Szlachta of Chimaira, as well as Chuck Wepfer of Dirge Within. Excellent Cadaver guitarist and chief songwriter Drew Cochrane commented: “We’re really excited for the world to hear what we’ve been working on and totally thrilled that Mark and Matt from Chimaira and Chuck from Dirge Within appeared on our album, their parts are killer.”
Cochrane added that ‘Faith Destroyed’ was a culmination of 18-months hard work: “We worked long and hard to bring an album filled with varied tracks – no one wants an album with 12 songs that sound the same, so on ours you’ll find fast headbanging thrashers mixed in alongside slower, heavier, groove laden tracks. We like to play about with time signatures, tempo changes and mixing in different styles in the one track, anything to keep it interesting to listen to and play. “
Excellent Cadaver is currently involved in ‘The Ultimate Band Contest.’ The winner of the competition will be rewarded with a spot at Download Festival 2013 and earn a 1 year endorsement with Marshal Amplification
