Full Metal Jackie is offering US residents the chance to win tickets to see Lamb Of God’s new feature-length documentary, ‘As The Palaces Burn.’ Follow the link below for details on how to enter.
‘As The Palaces Burn’ officially premiered on February 16 at The Trocodero theatre in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the site of the band’s 2005 concert video, ‘Killadelphia.’
While the original concept of the documentary was to focus on Lamb Of God’s international fans, director Don Argott (‘Last Days Here,’ ‘Art Of The Steal,’ ‘Rock School’) was forced to drastically change its direction when LOG vocalist Randy Blythe was arrested and charged in connection to the falling death of a fan during a 2010 Lamb Of God concert in Prague.
Argott was able to get behind the scenes access and covered Blythe’s 38 day imprisonment in Prague, his release, the band’s return to live performances and finally Blythe’s trial in Prague in February 2013.
Lamb Of God were on hand at the film’s premiere to speak a little about what it meant to them: “This is not the movie we set out to make. We set out to make a movie about you guys, but life happens,” Blythe explained. “I want you all just to keep in mind that we’re here and it’s cool and everyone’s happy but it’s not a movie we’re particularly happy about, you know.”
He added: “If we could undo things that happened, we would. But what it is, is an honest expression of our truth. And I think that’s the most important thing, you know.”
‘As The Palaces Burn’ will debut in hundreds of theaters worldwide over the coming weeks. Following the film, a 30 minute Q&A with the entire band and director Don Argott will be shown. The Q&A was conducted by VH1 Classics Eddie Trunk and filmed at the final show of the band’s North American tour in support of their most recent release, ‘Resolution.’
