To celebrate the release of ‘The Merciless Book Of Metal Lists’ by Howie Abrams and Sacha Jenkins, Exodus guitarist Gary Holt has listed his ten favorite quotes by the late Exodus vocalist Paul Baloff. They can be found in the promotional video below.
Slated as, “…the most opinionated compendium ever written concerning heavy metal,” ‘The Merciless Book Of Metal Lists’ features 208 pages of factual, random and often outrageous lists.
As well as documenting metals greatest highs and lows, the book encompasses a humorous stance on several topics, including how many metal album covers feature goats on them, what Motorhead frontman Lemmy’s warts might say if they could speak and the heights Iron Maiden would never have reached had their original vocalist Paul Di’Anno remained in the band.
Several musicians and industry heavyweights, including Scott Ian (Anthrax), Gary Holt (Exodus), Max Cavalera (Sepultura/Soulfly), Brian Slagel (Metal Blade Records CEO), Eddie Trunk (radio personality), and Monte Conner (former Roadrunner Records current Nuclear Blast A&R rep) contributed lists to the book.
Additionally, ‘The Merciless Book Of Metal Lists’ features a foreword penned by Slayer guitarist Kerry King and an afterword from Pantera/Down frontman Philip Anselmo.
