If you’re a Metallica fan that missed out on the documentary Some Kind of Monster when it was released back in January 2004, then the band has released some good news for you today. The full and uncut out-of-print film will be re-released as a two-disc Blu-ray set on November 24th.
The documentary tracks the band during the recording of St. Anger and follows their ups and downs, including some which threatened to break the band apart for good. The movie was directed by Joe Berlinger and Bruce Sinofsky and the re-release has been apparently requested heavily by Metallica fans. The re-release will also be available via video on demand and will be released for purchase digitally. On top of that, the updated version will include a 25-minute follow up piece entitled Metallica: This Monster Lives and which was recorded at the 2013 Toronto International Film Festival during the release of the band’s second moview, Metallica: Through The Never.
