New Way Home Gets ‘Amped By All Axess’

This week’s ‘Amped artist’ is New Zealand metal band New Way Home. The video to the title track from the band’s full-length debut album ‘Mirrors’ can be found below.

New Way Home is made up of seasoned musicians from several of New Zealand’s most revered bands, including Blindspott and Sommerset. The band’s unique mix of talent has resulted in a heavy and diverse sound; ranging from highly complex and technical riffs to simple and beautiful melodies.

After having only been on the scene for a relatively short time, New Way Home has already established a solid fanbase and played in front of large stadium crowds. The group’s originality, appeal and musicianship has landed them support gigs for some of the biggest bands in metal, including Slipknot, Meshuggah, Devin Townsend, and Machine Head.

On August 3 2012, after countless hours of writing, recording, mixing, mastering and developing a concept for the artwork, New Way Home’s self-produced and self-recorded full-length debut album ‘Mirrors’ was released to critical acclaim.

A rough demo of the song ‘Chrysalis’ from the album was released on the internet late last year. It won song of the month on sevenstring.org and received an 8/10 from a Roadrunner Records A&R scout on signmeto.com

The demo also abruptly went to #1 on both the metal and alternative metal charts at soundclick.com and stayed there for nearly a month out of over 120,000 songs in the worldwide charts.

Since the release of ‘Mirrors,’ New Way Home is more eager than ever prove that they have what it takes to make a mark in the metal world.
