Chris Broderick or Marty Friedman? Megadeth Frontman Dave Mustaine Speaks His Mind.

They’re two of metals greatest debates, Metallica or Megadeth? Kirk Hammet or Dave Mustaine? While there is little doubt the answers come down to opinion, these arguments have been raging amongst us headbangers for more then two decades. In recent years a new debate has flared involving Megadeth guitarists. Who is the better player, current lead guitarist Chris Broderick or long-standing ex-guitarist Marty Friedman?
Megadeth frontman Dave Mustaine has spoken on the latest dispute: “Chris and Marty both have their strengths and weaknesses. We’ve had great guitar players over the years with Megadeth, and that’s been one constant with us. The guitar-playing ability has been consistently good to excellent. We’ve had some drummers who are average, and the bass playing has always been good. But Chris and Marty are on a level all their own.”
There certainly is no slowing down for Megadeth, who have begun working on their upcoming record; “It’s gonna be heavy and not slow heavy like Black Sabbath or Trouble. It’s very, very fast heavy,” reports Mustaine. “Some of the songs are old, some are new. Some were written this morning. Some back in the early stages of my career — songs that weren’t previously recorded.”
