Down Guitarist Pepper Keenan Joins C.O.C On Stage

Down Guitarist Pepper Keenan joined his former Corrosion of Conformity bandmates on stage at Kristonfest in Bilbao, Spain on Saturday night.
Since ending their four-year hiatus in 2010 Corrosion of Conformity have been touring as a three-piece without Keenan. It is still not entirely clear what Keenan’s official status with the band is despite the C.O.C. website stating that “Pepper currently, has not left the band” in 2010.
In a recent interview with The Delaware County Daily Times, Keenan was asked about his status; “I’m waiting to hear when we’re gonna get together and jam,” he said. “We’re supposed to play some festivals in Europe and I’m supposed to sing on a couple of songs. Right now all I know is they’re doing the three-piece thing which I haven’t heard much of or what the deal is, but we’ve talked, just not much. Eventually they want to get together, and I want to, too, and get back to the ‘Deliverance’-era stuff and put together a new record. I’m just waitin’ for them to call.”
Though Keenan may still be an official member of Corrosion of Conformity, over the past five years most of his attention has been focused on Down, where he plays alongside metal icons like Crowbar vocalist/guitarist Kirk Windstein, Eyehategod drummer Jimmy Bower, and former Pantera members, vocalist Phil Anselmo and bassist Rex Brown.
