Phil Demmel Discusses Machine Head’s Plans For 2012

Machine Head guitarist Phil Demmel has spoken with Camstas about the bands plans for touring their latest album ‘Unto The Locust.’ You can watch the full, video-interview below.

Machine Head are in the midst of their headlining European tour with Bring Me The Horizon and Devildriver. Demmel says that so far the tour has been, “…going great. We’re seven shows deep and all of them have been great. We’re seven from seven. Some a little bit better, but all of them have just been like, wow that was great.”
The guitarist says that the songs from the new album have gone down well live, which is just as well, considering the level of difficulty to play them. “First few times we played it we were in South America and it was hard. These songs are hard to play.” He added, “Its awesome to see the new stuff going over just as good, if not better than the older stuff. People are singing all the words and going off and just feeling it… It’s good to see we are connecting…”

Demmel also discussed what’s in store for the band, over the next year or so. “We’ll be home for about a month, and then we’re doing a stage tour with us, Suicide Silence, Darkest Hour and Rise to Remain. We go straight from there to Soundwave, in Australia…we’re gonna come back and maybe do more dates in the States and Canada, and then right into festivals…We’re busy for the next year.”
Demmel had some sound words of wisdom for those of you who are just starting out in a band or learning an instrument. “Be true to yourself, and be genuine. Let whatever’s truly inside of you out through your instrument.”
