If you haven’t had a chance to head down to the Hard Rock Café at Universal CityWalk, in California recently, then you may not be aware that its iconic giant guitar has been made to match legendary guitarist, Eddie Van Halen’s Frankenstrat. EVH recently tweeted a pic of the awesome looking axe; you can check it out below.
The Frankenstrat was a guitar developed by EVH, who came up with the concept because he wanted to combine the sounds of a classic Gibson guitar, with the Fender look. The original model was derived from an ash Stratocastor body and maple neck that he picked up for a total of $130. While many different color and pattern schemes were tried out on the guitar; none suited it better than the now-famous combination of red, with black-and-white stripes.
