Willie Adler On Upcoming Lamb Of God Film ‘As The Palaces Burn’

Lamb Of God guitarist Willie Adler caught up with Total Rock at this years Downlaod festival, which was held June 8-10 at Donington Park in Leicestershire, United Kingdom, to talk about the bands upcoming film ‘As The Palaces Burn.’ Check it out in the video interview below.

Lamb Of God have been busy touring the globe in support of their latest album ‘Resolution’ and are also in the process of filming for their upcoming fan-to-band documentary film, ‘As The Palaces Burn.’ Adler explained: “We’re working on a feature film that’s geared more towards the fans and the impact that heavy metal in general has on them and their lives.”

Adler added that the band wanted to differ from the norm of releasing a concert film and instead, put out something unique. “We’ve done quite a few DVD’s that feature the band; I’m not saying this won’t, but it is mainly geared towards the fans experience.”

Despite their hectic schedule, Lamb Of God have been actively involved in the making of the film. “We’ve talked to each and every one of the people that have be interviewed for the film,” Adler explained. “It’s amazing to me that we can create something that inspires them to go to the lengths that they do to catch a show. You know, their driving twelve hours to come see us play for an hour. It’s amazing.”

Fans in Colombia, Venezuela, Mexico, India, and Israel have already had their chance to feature in the movie; while filming in the United States is set to take place over the summer months.

‘As The Palaces Burn’ is being directed by award-winning documentary filmmaker Don Argott and produced by 9.14 Pictures (Last Days Here, Art of the Steal, Rock School). The film documents the lives of Lamb Of God fans who are living in some of the most terror-stricken corners of the globe and shows how heavy metal music has helped them to cope.
