Metal giants Trivium have issued a press release regarding their new album ‘In Waves’, which will be unleashed on August 9 by Roadrunner Records.
‘In Waves’ will come packaged as a two-disc special edition that includes two separate tracklists, bonus songs, and a behind-the-scenes documentary. Recorded at Audiohammer Studios in Sanford, Florida, ‘In Waves’ will be Trivum’s first album since their `08 release Shogun.
Martin “Ginge” Ford and Colin Richardson, who has worked with some of metals finest including Machine Head, Bullet For My Valentine and Slipknot along with engineer Carl Bown make up the highly talented production/mixing team used for the record.
The bands guitarist have released the following comments;
Trivium vocalist/guitarist Matt Heafy stated; ” ‘In Waves’ to us… is Trivium. ‘In Waves’ is the music, the artwork, the videos, and the live show; they are all part of an interconnected whole. There’s no question about it, in our eyes, that this is the most complete project we’ve ever done. We think we’ve finally made the record that we’ve always strived to make.”
Guitarist Corey Beaulieu added, “’In Waves’ also has a few tracks that explore a direction we haven’t gone before by having songs that feature all heavy vocals. This was another way for us to push the boundaries of our sound and to continue to try new things but still be 100% Trivium. Each track has its own distinct vibe – from the black metal tinged Dusk Dismantled, to the chaotic riffing of Skyline Severance, to the nonstop bludgeoning of Chaos Reigns… these tracks show a new side of us.”
The first single, ‘In Waves’ (also the title track) was released on May 21, to Trivium World members; the video premieres today at AltPress.com in the U.S. and on NME.com in the U.K.
