James ‘Munky’ Shaffer Welcomes Baby Boy

Korn guitarist James ‘Munky’ Shaffer and his wife Evis Xheneti have announced the birth of their first born child, D’Angelo Draxon Shaffer.

D’Angelo arrived yesterday, Wednesday, November 7 at 8.44 a.m. He weighed eight pounds and three ounces. Shaffer also has a daughter named Carmella Star from his first marriage.

Xheneti made the announcement via her Facebook page: “My husband James and I are thrilled to announce the birth of our son D’Angelo DraXon Shaffer born simply perfect this beautiful day of November 7, 2012 8:44AM at 8lbs 3oz .. We are so excited to share this joyful news of our little angel’s arrival..”

In a recent interview with The Pulse Of Radio, Shaffer said that he aspired to be a father like ex-KORN guitarist Brian ‘Head’ Welch: “His daughter is really — what a sweetheart,” he said. “He’s an amazing father. Like, I’m looking forward to being half that good as a father. I am a father, but I get another go at it.”

In other news, Shaffer has given Revolver magazine an update on the progress of the next Korn album: “We have 15 new Korn songs written, which is really cool. I mean, they’re not complete songs but we are in the process of finding a producer and trying to find the right balance of what we want with these songs, how to present them. We have massive choruses and we have riff sections. We’re kind of waiting for Jonathan to put lyric ideas on them so we can move into the recording process.”

Shaffer also confirmed the album would be guitar driven: “We’re not gonna try to put out a dance album. [Laughs] It’s very much going to be a metal album and I think a guitar-heavy record.”
