Natalie’s World recently conducted an interview with Matt Wicklund of melodic thrash-metalers God Forbid. The full audio interview can be found below.
The interview comes off the back of God Forbid’s latest album ‘Equilibrium,’ which hit stores on March 27. The album came in at No. 156 on the U.S. Billboard charts and No.7 on the Top New Artist Albums (Heatseekers) chart, cementing the band as being one of the kingpins of the melodic thrash-metal genre.
Guitarist/vocalist Doc Coyle recently explained what the band set out to achieve with the album. “There are some really fast, super heavy, groovy songs – some of the catchiest, most melodic songs we’ve ever written. We wanted a modern, but organic-sounding album that was tight but still captured the intensity of the band. The album sounds huge!”
The band recently released the first video ‘Where We Come From’ off the explosive album, Wicklund says that it gives fans a chance to see what goes on behind the scenes. “‘Where We Come From’ is a really cool video for us because it gives an honest glimpse into a real day in the life of all of us and takes you through the entire journey from the daily grind to doing what we love on stage!” he said.
God Forbid will be hitting the road in support of the new album this spring with co-headliners Overkill and supporting acts Diamond Plate and Sudikara. See the full list of dates below:
