Jack White Tears Into Foo Fighters, Rolling Stone in Kanye-like Rant

It seems that Jack White, a man who is no stranger to the press this year, decided to go on a little rant on Wednesday night as part of his show at Boston’s Fenway Park. Needless to say, Jack was not happy.

He started off with concern about the amount of microphones onstage, stating: “You know most performers don’t use microphones anymore, you know…” before launching into a rant about the Foo Fighters and their setup: “Then there’s the Foo Fighters, a band right there that has a second guitar player playing the same parts I play back right here in case I make a mistake … We gotta do stuff like that nowadays.”

Following on from there, he called out Rolling Stone magazine for publishing “fake articles” and for – in his opinion – generally being the music equivalent of the tabloid press. “RollingStone.com, brought to you by the Kardashian family. 15 Outfits That Will Blow Your Mind That Taylor Swift Wore This Month. 12 Reasons Rolling Stone Won’t Put a Black-And-White Cover on Your Magazine Unless You’re Dead.”

He went on to make note of the fact that Jann Wenner of Rolling Stone also owns US Magazine, before claiming that Wenner had “kept paparazzi alive for 20 years.”

Harsh words. But not to be thought of as going off on a rant, it seems. White finished up with “So forget ISIS, forget the war in the Middle East, forget any problems at home, forget gay marriage, forget everything you ever thought about everything. This not a rant. This is just me saying, ‘Hello Cleveland!’ … Yeah, baby! Brought to you by RollingStone.com.”

The whole thing was – of course – caught and uploaded to YouTube. Check it out below.
