This week’s AMPED Artist Of The Week is Australian hard rockers, Massive. Check out the official video to ‘One By One’ from the band’s acclaimed debut album, aptly titled ‘Full Throttle.’
Since forming in 2012, Massive have developed a reputation as a hard-rocking, hard-working and hard-partying rock band, known by fans for its hi-octane live shows and by the law for antics like bringing back most of the crowd to their hotel for after-hours parties. The band’s debut album, ‘Full Throttle’ was released independently in Australia in 2013 and earned the band international recognition and a record deal with Earache Records. The album was released internationally in July this year via Earache along with four newly-recorded bonus tracks not available on the original release, including two brand new original songs plus covers of AC/DC’s ‘If You Want Blood (You’ve Got It)’ and Aerosmith’s ‘Rats in the Cellar.’
The success of ‘Full Throttle’ was greatly boosted when Classic Rock Magazine gave away the album for free to its 85,000 readers and placed the band on its front cover.
Massive is currently in the midst of its first ever European tour with Blackberry Smoke in support of the album. Dates can be found here.
Official Massive bio:
Assembled from parts lying around Melbourne in 2012, Massive are a volatile macho-rock engine fueled on adrenaline, lager and a determination to party hard. Known to travel thousands of miles across the baking desert between gigs, these riot-starting, fist swinging road dogs mean business.
The debut album ‘Full Throttle’ is a breakneck all-killer-no-filler record which is brimming with attitude. …Tracks like ‘One By One’ fuses aggressive and anthemic choruses with eye-watering solos whilst the bass-heavy testosterone soaked ‘Dancefloor’ is more circle pit than ballroom. The menace and grit of the band comes out in tracks like ‘Big Trend Setter’ which is an egotistical explosion of pure Rock’n’Roll arrogance. ‘Now or Never’ is a white knuckle joyride with enough G-force to make your head spin and the middle-finger-to-the-man numbers like ‘Hollywood’ will whip up any crowd into an anarchic frenzy.
